3 Thoughts On The Subject
I didn't enable comment moderation but I do have the word verification because of getting "spam" on a post that was actually about a rather sensitive subject. Also to avoid "trolls."
Yeah, it's sad but I'm having to do the word verification for bots, and the moderation for trolls. I've not dealt with a true troll yet but I'm sure it's just a matter of time. I'm sure I'll post something that'll piss someone off sooner or later.
Some of my commenters whine about my word verification, but I do it to protect the people around me. Because if I get more than a couple spams per day in my comments section, I am likely to flip out and kill the next person who happens to cross my path, and that's just not nice. So I turn on word verification, and everyone gets to live another day.
